Press release: SMK and OHH sign 3-year partnership

Date: 25 January 2024

Nijmegen, Netherlands – This strategic partnership will ease the administrative burden of healthcare providers and give healthcare providers faster and better insight into patient data in advance. For the patient, this means more convenience and peaceful preparation at home.

Patients can fill in information and questions in advance via their own mijnmaartenskliniek portal. This allows patient and caregiver to prepare for the interview at the intake and the caregiver does not have to ask everything. Patient and caregiver can then focus on the personal interview. Other examples are questionnaires prior to a radiology visit or passing on home measurements in the case of gout. Questionnaires for measuring quality after surgery (PROMS) can also be done quietly at home this way. Useful for making the patient process transparent, so the patient knows where he or she stands and doctor can improve treatment step by step.

Administrative burden for healthcare providers is greatly reduced by digitisation of medical forms and integration with the Electronic Patient Dossier (EPD) of the Sint Maartenskliniek . Together, the partners are taking a new step towards more efficient, interoperable and digitalised care. The Maartenskliniek is extending the cooperation for another three years, with a focus on implementing:

  • A white-label ‘Embedded Form Filler‘ within the SalesForce patient portal. With the introduction of the Embedded Form Filler, patients can complete forms directly within the existing patient portal. Because this allows patients to already do the administrative processing at home, there is more time during the appointment for the actual care request.
  • A FHIR Viewer for viewing collected patient data. With the introduction of an FHIR viewer, the Maartenskliniek can directly view the FHIR-structured patient data collected with medical forms clearly and easily without having to retype them.

As part of this collaboration, Open Health Hub will become the preferred supplier for digital medical questionnaires and forms at the Maartenskliniek. With Open Health Hub’s interoperable FHIR technology, Maartenskliniek is prepared for tomorrow’s care.

We are delighted with our collaboration with Open Health Hub. It marks an important step forward in a sustainable reduction of administrative burdens for our healthcare staff and an improvement in our services to patients,” says Remco Hoogendijk, Manager Projects & Innovation at Sint Maartenskliniek.
